Novokhatska Olga

By the age of 16, Olga Novokhatska was certain of her artistic future. She enroll in an arts- specialized high school and was later accepted to the renowned State Academy of Design and Fine Arts in Kharkiv. At the end of her studies, she moved to France in 2008 and obtained a second degree from the Ecole Supérieure d'Art in Lorraine. Since then, Olga has work consistently throughout France. The viewer may be tempted to see a certain form of nostalgia in her work, to recognise someone or to rediscover a place, a situation, a context. But Olga Novokhatska’s works are above all filled with a sense of timelessness. Exploring the relationships between sensuality and materiality, the artist develops a practice halfway between figuration and abstraction, between the infinite and spatial limits.
